What is Legalism?
I learned today that it is relying and trusting in rules and regulations over a relationship with God. Can you relate with that like I did?
There was a time when I realized I saw my imperfection. There is nothing like being somebody who knows they are awful. Its kind of freeing. Guess what, I'm awful. I'm evil at my core. But I don't need to convince myself I'm not horrible. Legalism has blinded me to my own sinfulness. You start buffering your ways...getting it "down", polishing it over. Then you stand, like a Pharisee, on your dead world of self honoring emptiness.
I hung out with a friend today. Went to a nearby church I've never been to before.
